Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a **Project Control Specialist**.
This role is responsible for the maintenance and reporting of Ship Repair project data and plays a key role in the integration of the various Ship Repair departments, ensuring progress towards key project and program milestones.
**Qualifications**:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration and/or Commerce (Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management); or equivalent work experience.
- PMP designation considered an asset
- Lean SixSigma Green Belt (or equivalent) and above considered an asset
- Experience:
- 1-5 years in a project-driven construction or manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting major projects involving direction through trade supervision
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, experience with Power Query or VBA considered a strong asset
- Microsoft Office Suite (Outlooks, Teams, OneNote, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of cost and budget control with direct and indirect labor, materials, equipment and personnel management
- Experience in shipbuilding and ship repair operations considered an asset
- Primavera P6, IBM Cognos, Kronos iSeries, Tableau and SharePoint considered assets
- All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Earned Value Management (EVM) Reporting and Analysis:
- Management of the “Supervisor’s In-Week EVMS” system
- Processing of weekly EVM data in conjunction with the Ship Repair Scheduling team
- Production and development of KPIs for the Ship Repair Production and Planning & Scheduling departments relating to EVM
- Identification and correction of incorrect Production labour charging on Ship Repair projects
- Reporting as required to support ISI’s adherence to the HCWPC Performance Management System and Performance Requirements Statement
- Identification of cost accounts to be closed by the Project Accounting team
- Verification of Ship Repair subcontractor invoices against the Project Schedule
- Production Work Scope Reporting and Analysis:
- Ownership of Production work scope status data for various work scopes on Ship Repair projects as required by Ship Repair management, consisting of in/out of scope, work completion, work to go, etc.
- Development and production of reports summarizing work scope status as required
- Audits of project schedule activity progress against work scope status data
- Data Management, Reporting and Analytics:
- Non-EVM KPIs for the various Ship Repair departments
- Management & processing of non-EVM project data (i.e. weekly Crew List)
- Assist the other Ship Repair departments with data management/processing as required
- Mentoring of Ship Repair Co-Op Students:
- Assist/support co-op students in their duties
- Mentor co-op students in all aspects of working for ISI
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identification of, and participation in applicable Continuous Improvement projects to improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity within Ship Repair.
