Project Controls Director

Job Summary:
Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Project Control Chief to lead our team in executing a major Progressive Design Build rail and transit project in Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing all phases of the project controls effort, including planning, scheduling, reporting, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to project teams to resolve complex project control problems.
- Interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provide statistical reports to ensure project progress and performance.
- Lead a team of Project Control Engineers/Specialists who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs and performance against established schedules with critical milestones.
- Assess the impact of design/construction changes and schedule slippages on project timelines and budgets.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a comprehensive system to show the hierarchy of plans and schedules, ensuring project and company management are fully informed.
- Coordinate staffing requirements, assign and supervise project work activities, and train personnel to ensure project success.
- Complete performance reviews and provide personnel development for assigned employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Recommend and oversee the customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Create statistical reports for management on a recurring or one-of-a-kind basis to inform project decisions.
- Participate in business development efforts by gathering and presenting background data to support project proposals.
- May be required to make informal or formal presentations to stakeholders to communicate project progress and results.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field).
- 15+ years of related project controls management experience, including supervisory/managerial experience in complex design/construction heavy civil projects.
- Basic engineering knowledge and understanding.
- Experience working in large integrated joint venture infrastructure projects, with a minimum project value of $1 billion.
- Proficient PC skills, including proficiency in Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Solid understanding of Primavera P6 system.
