Position Overview
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Chief of Project Controls to oversee a significant Progressive Design Build rail and transit initiative in Canada. In this capacity, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing all aspects of project controls, including planning, scheduling, reporting, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and specialized support to resolve complex project control challenges.
- Engage with clients, participate in regular meetings, and deliver statistical reports.
- Lead a team of Project Control Engineers/Specialists skilled in analyzing, evaluating, and forecasting project costs and performance against established schedules with critical milestones.
- Evaluate the implications of design and construction modifications and schedule delays.
- Supervise the development and upkeep of a structured system to illustrate the hierarchy of plans and schedules, ensuring project and corporate management are well-informed.
- Coordinate staffing needs, delegate and oversee project tasks, and mentor team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for assigned staff.
- Recommend and manage the customization of project control systems to fulfill specific project needs.
- Generate statistical reports for management on a regular or unique basis.
- Contribute to business development initiatives by collecting and presenting relevant background information.
- May be required to deliver informal or formal presentations.
- Execute additional responsibilities as necessary for this role.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Over 15 years of relevant project controls management experience, including supervisory roles in complex heavy civil design and construction projects.
- Basic engineering knowledge and understanding is essential.
- Experience in large integrated joint venture infrastructure projects exceeding $1 billion is mandatory.
- Proficient in PC applications, particularly Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong command of the Primavera P6 system.
