**Accounts Payable and Special Projects**

**(Permanent, Full-time 35 hours per week)**

**Bargaining Unit Position**

The Accounts Payable and Special Projects position reports to the Senior Manager, Accounting and is responsible for supporting all aspects of the accounts payable cycle. This position also significantly assists the Special Project Consultant who works directly with the Director, Finance & Administration to research and implement special projects that will modernize the finance function and improve efficiencies and effectiveness.

**Highlights of Your Role**

**Accounts Payable**

Provides support to the Director, Finance & Administration and to the Senior Manager, Accounting in all aspects of the accounts payable cycle, assisting with special projects and supporting the finance team.

Supports and administers accounts payable, including matching invoices with purchase order or cheque requests, confirming coding, entering invoices, preparing payment reports for approval, preparing transfers or cheques and resolving any supplier accounts disputes.

Prepares the bank reconciliation, including cash receipts, petty cash transfer entries and reconciliations, and other bank items.

This position also assists in other tasks to help the Senior Manager, Accounting support YouthLink reach its financial priorities.

May be requested to assists in preparing for the annual audit and for the annual budget process and other tasks as needed.

**Special Projects**

Works closely with the Special Projects Consultant to support research and recommendations of special projects that will modernize the finance function, as determined by the Director, Finance & Administration and the Chief Executive Director.

**Collaborates with staff and other stakeholders**:
This position reports directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting with a dotted line to the Special Projects Consultant and the Director, Finance & Administration. The position also interacts with Directors, Managers and other staff across the organisation, on occasion.

**Growth and Development**:
Participates in team meetings as required. Participates in all mandatory professional training provided by the Agency.

**Education**:

- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Any training program in accounts payable function.

**Experience**:

- 2 years work experience; experience in accounting for not-for-profits is an asset.

Working experience or trained in ACCPAC/Sage is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, Power-point, Access
- Knowledge of on-line banking transfers/payment procedures and other system integrations with accounting systems
- Ability to follow instructions easily and explain status of assignments
- Ability to multi-task and handle strict deadlines
