**The Opportunity**: The Supervisor, Property Finance is expected to have full responsibility and accountability for ensuring that the Property Finance Assistant group provides accurate and timely financial information relating to cash management and reporting as required internally by management, and externally to the client. The Supervisor will have skills such as problem solving, decision making, time management, effective communication, and delegation to achieve the desired results. They will assist in training, development, and continuous improvement of staff, processes, and procedures. The supervisor will also provide support and assistance to the Accounting department in the overall management of staff.
**What You Will Do**: The Supervisor, Property Finance will report directly to the Controller, Property Finance and be responsible for the following:
- Directly supervise the day-to-day activities of the Property Finance Assistant group to ensure the efficient operation of banking reconciliation functions for properties under management
- Responsible for tracking the timely and accurate completion and filing of monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparation and maintenance of all procedural documentation relating to Property Finance support.
- Initiation of wire and account transfers
- Assisting in maintaining the master bank account listing
- Maintaining centralized filing system for bank reconciliations, property taxes, Sales tax filings and wire and account transfers.
- Input / feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
- Efficient and effective communication, in a professional manner, with all BGO employees and clients
- Other ad-hoc projects as assigned
**Role as a Member of the BGO Team**
The role of the Supervisor, Property Finance is to add value to BGO staff and clients through:
- Direct supervision of Property Finance Assistants to ensure that BGO staff and clients are provided with accurate and timely financial information relating to cash management that helps them to:
- manage their properties and cash flow in an effective manner
- comply with provincial and federal guidelines
- make timely decisions
- provide meaningful financial reports
- Continuous improvement of processes and procedures that will ensure:
- efficiency
- control
- accuracy
- responsiveness
This is an important role that will provide BGO and its clients with assurances that the cash management accounting group is a knowledgeable, high quality group that is functioning with appropriate levels of leadership, support, and controls. This will enable BGO to increase its value to its clients and site staff by meeting and exceeding their needs. This role also supports and allows for sustainable growth of the BGO business.
**Who You Are**:The Supervisor, Property Finance will be required to have the following qualifications or equivalent work experience:
- University Degree (BBA or BCOMM) or Business Diploma in Financial Management or equivalent experience is an asset
- Minimum 2 years experience in treasury, banking administration or a supervisory role is preferred
- **Relationship Skills**: ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; ability to develop leadership in others; team player
- **Organizational/Multi-Tasking**: ability to allocate one’s time effectively, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed level; willingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and change
- **Decision Making Skills -** ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems; ability to take decisive action; ability to resolve conflict
- **Computer Skills**: intermediate to advance skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs; knowledge of Yardi an asset
- **Police Clearance** - A criminal verification check is required for employment.
