Our Mission is building healthier communities using integrated services to empower individuals living with complex issues.
We are currently seeking a Health Services Manager. This is a permanent position with HOOPP and benefits. The position is onsite, Monday through Friday at the head office located in mid-town Toronto.
**Position Overview**
As a member of the management team, the Health Services Manager directs and oversees the planning, operation and evaluation of high-quality, client-centered, integrated and responsive primary and allied healthcare and health promotion services and programs. The Health Services Manager is responsible for overseeing patient safety and experience, and the successful execution and accountability of programs and services.
The position is responsible for providing supervision, direction and support to interprofessional teams including physicians, nurse practitioners, allied health professionals, health promoters and administrative staff. The position will also work closely with the senior leadership team to provide an integrated approach to programs and services.
**Key Responsibilities**
**SERVICE DELIVERY AND PLANNING**
- Provides supervision, direction, oversight and support for the service delivery activities of the healthcare staff teams, ensuring an integrated, collaborative client-centred approach
- Sets clear goals for the teams in alignment with medical directives, organizational priorities and funder expectations and leads by example to engage the team to achieve goals
- In collaboration with teams, identifies gaps in service and presents recommendations to address these gaps
- Leads the identification, development and evaluation of healthcare and health promotion programs and services to meet the health needs of clients and the community
- Leads the planning and implementation of new/expanded healthcare and health promotion programs and services
- Leads the development of documentation and guidelines related to service delivery and professional practice in collaboration with relevant staff
- Fosters effective client engagement and builds and maintains critical relationships with funders and community partners
- Leads the development of adequate staffing levels and schedules to ensure maximization of service delivery
**QUALITY ASSURANCE AND IMPROVEMENT**
- Regularly reviews and analyzes service delivery and other relevant data to inform practice and service improvement opportunities
- Provide leadership and takes initiative in the development and implementation of program evaluation activities, quality improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities related to healthcare and health promotion programs and services
- Monitors and directs key elements of effective practice, audit and quality issues, risk management and health and safety
- Participates in organizational wide quality assurance and improvement initiatives
- Provides leadership for accreditation processes in areas related to the healthcare and health promotion programs and services
**RESOURCES AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT**
- Participates in annual budget development process identifying financial and human resources requirements to support healthcare and health promotion programs and services
- Manages assigned operating budgets and ensure that expenditures remain within budget
- Works with staff to set clear and achievable goals with stated expectations
- Manages all aspects of people management for healthcare and health promotion staff including orientation, coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, performance management and learning and development
- Responsible for management of client complaints and implementation of conflict resolution strategies
**Skills and Knowledge**
- Solid understanding of community-based primary and allied health care and health promotion services including strategic issues facing the health system and related sectors
- Good knowledge and alignment with social determinants of health, preventative care, digital health, health equity and emerging trends in healthcare
- Demonstrated analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to assess risk areas and recommend mitigation solutions
- Strong program management and organizational skills (strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation and project management)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, combined with the ability to communicate with staff, stakeholders, partners, clients and consumers and the public diplom
