At the Ministry of Infrastructure we are responsible for planning, building and managing government-owned infrastructure. Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering one quarter of the 2022-25 Capital Plan which is working to address the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population, and supporting key social programs and services, and economic development.The Ministry designs, builds, manages and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population.Infrastructure provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Project Manager, Health Facilities Branch, and the Project Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the delivery and implementation of health capital projects from design development through construction, building & operational commissioning and turnover stages for assigned capital projects. The Project Coordinator is the liaison between the client/user, consultants and the construction team and must balance client/user needs within project constraints, obtaining maximum cooperation between client/user groups, support departments, external agencies, consultants and contractors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Establish and maintain a network of relationships to influence decision-making affecting project outcomes with internal groups/departments.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure that projects are progressing and hat issues and problems are addressed and resolved
- Facilitate construction meetings and access to various resources
- Provide direction to contractors and other stake holders
- Assist project manager in project planning
- Reviews functional programs and project design to ensure that all construction requirements are included
- Organize site shut downs
- Participate and assist with all stages of project design, construction and operational commissioning activities (on multiple projects)
- Participates in the review of drawings and specification to ensure adherence to building standards
- Coordinates and monitors construction progress daily
- Ensure appropriate reporting and quality control of assigned capital projects
- Supports project accounting with reporting process
- Administers overall documents management system Lead and facilitate building commissioning and movesThe Project Coordinator is a key member of the project team and supports the delivery of capital projects to ensure they are delivered within scope, budget, time, and quality to client's satisfaction and within safe working conditions. The Project Coordinator identifies resolution of contract deviations to ensure projects move ahead and on schedule and maintains effective communications and relationships with all clients and stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:
Two-year technical diploma in a related field PLUS six years related experience; or equivalent as described below.

**Equivalency**:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**You must also have**:

- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project)
- Training in Occupational Health & Safety
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
- Knowledge and experience with Business Administration/ Management Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and clear driver abstract**Assets**:

- Knowledge of construction agreements and associated contracts - including negotiation experience
- Knowledge of project management theories, principals and practices
- Understanding of contract law
- Prior healthcare construction experience
