The Youth Restorative Action Project (YRAP) is a restorative Youth Justice Committee founded and run by and for youth in the Edmonton area. YRAP works with young people who have caused harm to others while being affected by significant social issues (poverty, racism, homelessness, substance dependency, etc.). The goal is to provide these young people with constructive consequences for their actions while addressing the underlying issues that may lead them to re-offend if not resolved.

Volunteer coordination involves time spent recruiting, meeting, and training new volunteers; presenting to the community on our program and volunteering opportunities; monitoring and updating information related to our volunteers; and addressing the needs of volunteers to be successful at YRAP.

**Responsibilities Include**:

- Conducting volunteer intakes
- Coordinating and facilitating volunteer trainings, meetings, and appreciation events
- Responding to relevant concerns and questions expressed by volunteers
- Liaising with and presenting to community partners for the purposes of volunteer recruitment, collaboration, and information sharing
- Tracking and reporting on relevant data
- Taking referrals into the program
- Managing and tracking our community support files
- Arranging panels for YRAP conferences
- Supporting and advocating on behalf of clients and members
- Being accountable to the Board of Directors and the general membership

**Experience in the following areas will be considered an asset**:

- Experience supporting youth and facilitating restorative justice processes is an asset
- Experience coordinating volunteers and leading presentations/trainings is an asset
- Passion for restorative justice and youth advocacy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English)
- Strong attention to detail, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multi-task while working independently.
- Working with youth aged 12-24 experiencing various social barriers
- Familiarity with the Youth Criminal Justice Act
- Documentation and administrative skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in a deadline-driven environment

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- EDMONTON, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in EDMONTON, AB
