**Job Description**:
The York Region is among Canada’s fastest growing communities, with a population that is expected to grow to 2.05 million by 2051 and extends north from Toronto to Lake Simcoe with a balance of urban and rural landscapes. Since 2001, York Region Rapid Transit Corporation (YRRTC) has been in operation delivering best-in-class transit solutions for the York Region. As a wholly owned subsidiary and share capital corporation of The Regional Municipality of York, YRRTC is responsible for the planning, design and construction of the rapid transit network and related infrastructure with a mission of re-imagining communities, connecting people and places seamlessly. York Region Rapid Transit Corporation has delivered or overseen construction of more than $3.6 billion in rapid transit projects as of the end of 2021 and has exciting plans to continue to expand its infrastructure to meet the growing needs of the York Region.

Desired experience for this role includes proven and significant executive experience leading large, complex infrastructure projects, strategic business planning, fiscal accountability/sustainability along with program experience, financial & budget administration, asset management, and human resource management. University degree in business, planning, engineering, or a related field is sought or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This individual will possess demonstrated political acumen and the ability to manage and present to diverse stakeholders including all levels of government. They will have a broad understanding of corporate governance, stakeholder relations, and capital project implementation. They will lead from an inclusive leadership style to proactively engage in accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, committing to and taking action to contribute to a more accessible, diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace. Lastly, knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices for large infrastructure projects, along with expertise in transportation and planning principles round out the desired criteria.
