Accounting - Manager

Unisync is a leading provider of award winning North American Corporate Apparel, and Public Safety, Law Enforcement Uniform, Equipment supplies and protective garments across Canada and the United States. Our customer base includes Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian Coast Guard, Purolator, Petro Canada, Home Hardware, Alaska Airlines and a broad base of government entities such as the Federal Government of Canada.
The Accounting Manager reports to the Controller will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, implementing financial processes and contributing to strategic planning.
I. Primary Duties:
- Prepare financial statements and other financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including accountants and clerks, and ensure their continuous professional development.
- Actively participate and support the resolution of technical accounting issues, including coordination with auditors.
- To ensure that statutory financial obligations including audit, tax and other Government filings are completed on a timely basis.
- Manage cash flow and cash forecasting.
- Manage Payroll.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Collaborate with senior management to create and minor budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business decisions.
II. Secondary Duties:
- Vendor file maintenance.
- Produce monthly reports.
- Assist in month end closing.
- Provide backup support to functions performed by other accounting personnel.
III. Job Specifications:
A. Education Level - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. A CPA designation is required.
B. Experience - 1-3 years proven experience as an accounting manager or similar roles.
C. Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

C. Job Scope:
Job is frequently varied and may include new or unique work situations of moderate diversity with occasional periods of highly complex work. Duties are performed with only general direction, and work is checked or verified in general terms over extended periods of time. Decisions are made within general Company policy constraints. Errors in judgment can cause slow-downs or work stoppages resulting in late deliveries, added costs, cause loss of revenues/profits and adversely affect Company image.
