**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Reporting to the Controller, in this role you will:
- Provide agency wide leadership and quality assurance in the development, communication, implementation and management of financial controllership and reporting mechanisms that adhere to the OPS' financial and accounting policies and standards.
- Manage the coordination of financial close process and assist with internal and external financial reporting.
- Provide expert advice to agency executives and management on accounting policies and financial control in the delivery of the Agency's financial objective.
- Manage the financial, accounting and controllership services for the agency, including processing and recording of financial transactions, monitoring of accounting activities
- Lead the preparation of the customer facing financial documents related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking. Lead audits and preparing responses to the audit reports on behalf of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking teams and ensuring completion of reports
- Provide controllership by ensuring the Agency's policies for purchasing, travel, payment authorities and processes are consistent with directives
- Lead quality assurance and provide management oversight of revenue reporting functions, accounts receivable process approvals, collection activities and the annual write off submissions
- Collaborate with regional offices and corporate departments to develop operating and financial models, analyze business performance, provide strategic advice regarding receivable and payable management, efficiencies and process optimization to support business decision making
- Lead the team to timely analyze the agency's financial statements and prepare monthly management reporting to the Executive Management Team and quarterly and year-end briefing decks to the Board of Directors.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks and other key stakeholders to meet all reporting requirements on time and ensure compliance to policies and directives.
- Provide strong leadership to improve the existing ERP system and collaborate with stakeholders while providing ongoing support to business operations.
- Be a champion of ongoing process improvements and execute on the change management plan.
- Oversee the development of advanced financial planning, modelling and analytics tools, databases and dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Provide leadership in developing the performance measurement framework and KPIs to track and monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Facilitate a team approach to service delivery, manage and motivate staff through coaching, mentoring and training and enhance organizational capacity by attracting and retaining the right talents.
