**Job Scope**:
Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a dynamic leader to manage and shape our accounting team as an **Accounting Manager, **based out of our Head Office in **Mississauga, ON**. Reporting directly to the controller, you will play a key strategic role in the financial success of the organization. In addition to leading and managing the accounting team, responsibilities will include leading projects and process improvements, financial reporting and analysis, and preparing monthly financial statement close and reconciliations.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Duties and Responsibilities:_
- Support the Controller with workflow process improvement and lead special projects that will add value to the organization, demonstrating exceptional project management skills
- Assist with the design and implementation of features and procedures to enhance the accounting department’s workflow
- Lead the month close process and process improvement of the month end close process
- Act as a lead on the financial statement audit
- Diligently prepare and review various balance sheet account reconciliations, obtain the necessary detailed transactions for the account and investigate and correct reconciling items
- Utilize analytical review techniques when reviewing journal entries, account activity, and account reconciliations, to ensure accurate reporting by identifying discrepancies or errors
- Prepare various monthly financial reports and adhoc reports to support business decisions; make strategic recommendations based on forecasting, analysis, and industry knowledge
- Ensure that the appropriate accounting and internal control policies, procedures and practices are implemented to enable the preparation of financial statements
- Effectively manage and develop a high-performing team; work with direct reports to determine objectives and goals for each year, and advising on their progress to enhance staff professional development
- Respond to inquiries from the Controller, Director of Finance, VP of Finance, and other internal and external stakeholders

**What You’ll Bring to the Team**
- Qualifications and Requirements:_
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Accounting Designation is required (Canadian CPA)
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in an accounting managerial role
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of audit experience
- Previous experience in a related field, and knowledge of rental construction equipment is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards
- Superior data analysis and data management skills; highly proficient with Microsoft Excel & Power BI, and able to work with large amounts of complex data from various sources
- Prior experience with Texada and/or with Blackline will be an asset
- Proficient with full-cycle accounting
- Ability to lead, collaborate, influence and build relationships with all levels of the

organization and manage a team to implement new projects
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong project management, time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of initiative and highly self-motivated

Pay: $100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
