Bookkeeper/office Administrator

Darren Bruce, CPA, Professional Corporation based in St. Catharines Ontario is currently seeking an individual on a permanent, full time or part-time basis to join our dynamic team as an active bookkeeper/office clerk/administrative assistant. **In this newly created position, we seek a strong individual that is shows great strength and is willing to grow into this new position with our growing team.**
**Tasks**:
- Greeting of incoming clients in a professional and friendly manner
- Provide assistance with answering telephone and directing calls to appropriate team members
- Maintaining client supplied records and office files on all client levels in a well-organized manner
- Strong client communications and client follow up telephone communication calls as required
- Communications with Canada Revenue Agency, to provide client assistance on client specific matters and upload client prepared information for review purposes over Canada Revenue
- Participation and completion from start to finish of internal office processes and projects when required
- Preparation and distribution of internal meeting agendas and taking of meeting minutes for all department meetings when required
- Assistance in reviewing and preparing corporate, trust and partnership tax returns and notice to Reader financial statements.
- Assisting and supervising other staff with preparation of personal and corporate tax files.
- Assisting and supervising bookkeeping duties within the office.
- Assistance in preparing Canadian Tax Returns.
- Resolving notices and corresponding with the CRA.
- Meet with clients to discuss year-end financial statements and tax returns.
- Conducting research on tax law and cases as required.
- Provide assistance to the Office Administrator and Office Manager when required.
- Prepare communication letters as requested by individual team members and prepare for mailing / electronic delivery
- Assist with development and upkeep of internal client databases(s)on ongoing bases
- Ordering of office supplies/ occasional assistance with the tidiness of office for presentation to clients/ shredding of purged documents on occasional basis
- Other general related tasks as the position grows
**Qualifications/Requirements**
- Fluent spoken English
- Must be efficient while being precise and having an eye for detail
- Three years working in administrative role, administrative experience in an accounting firm or lawyer office an asset
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Office
- General knowledge of CaseWare, iFirm, QuickBooks Desktop, Quick Books Online are and added benefit, but willing to train if should become required as position grows
- Strong fundamental knowledge of an accounting cycle is an asset
- Strong Team player, Highly Organized, Strong Multitasker
- Reliable and punctual
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- St. Catharines, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
