We are looking for an organized accounts payable manager to provide strong leadership to our accounts payable department and to ensure that the department runs smoothly. The accounts payable manager's responsibilities include maintaining accurate records regarding payments to suppliers, processing payments from clients, and training staff members.
To succeed as an account’s payable manager, you should be focused on optimizing department processes and building lasting relationships with others within and outside of the business. You should be knowledgeable, analytical, and decisive with excellent leadership and communication skills.
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure all invoicing is received on time.
- Prioritize the workload to ensure the most pressing payments are made quickly
- Reviewing aging report on a regular basis; research and resolve balance
- Assist with AP process improvements, enforcing department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Ensure accounting procedures are properly followed
- Prepare weekly payment schedule
- Process invoices, GL entries into computer systems whenever is needed
- Daily operations, validate, approve and post invoices
- Act as the resource-person by supporting and training the AP team (monitoring actions of team, answering questions, problem solving)
- Building and maintaining relationships with employees & vendors
- Ensuring the team's work is accurate and invoices are approved for payment using the correct process
- Perform supplier statement reconciliations monthly to ensure data integrity of the sub-ledger.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5-7 years of experience in accounts payable
- 2-3 years of experience as an account payable manager
- Understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles, including general ledger coding
- Understanding the importance of accuracy and attention to details
- Problem solving
- Knowledge of the full accounting cycle
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficient with ERP system D365
- Knowledge of Momentis, an asset
- Knowledge of Visio, an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual French & English
