**Rental Manager**:

**Summary**:We are looking for a person with good organizational skills, good computer skills, and excellent people skills. This position is part-time with flexible hours, and would be ideal for someone who is working part-time and looking for interesting work that they can fit around their existing responsibilities.

**About Grace United Church**:As a committed, contributing member of the downtown Dartmouth community, Grace United Church is active in supporting a diverse community of entrepreneurs, entertainers, and other small business operators by negotiating rental agreements with those seeking start-up and/or continuing space to pursue business opportunities within a variety of well-managed and welcoming spaces in a faith-based institution in the heart of downtown Dartmouth.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the rental portfolio of Grace United Church, including monitoring rental usages, meeting prospective renters, negotiating rental agreement terms and conditions
- Market the available rentable spaces at Grace United Church to optimize utilization and revenue, including advertising rentable space availability within the HRM community
- Coordinate the use of rentable space by maintaining a computerized schedule accessible to all church staff and users, booking new and reviewing rentals in close coordination and communication with the management of Grace United Church
- Ensure renter contract obligations are respected and, where Grace United Church has contractual obligations to renters, that such obligations are fulfilled.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous building rental, marketing, sales and/or advertising experience is desirable.
- Proven computer skills including such systems as Microsoft office, Google Calendar, and Google Drive is required.
- Strong communications (written and verbal) and strong organizational skills
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters and with limited oversight
- Experience networking with the local business, entertainment, recreation, social enterprises, special needs and disability communities, as well as other potential renter groups
- Knowledge of the effective use of social media
- A valid Criminal Records Check will be required

**Contract Terms**:At a minimum, the Rental Manager is required to be on site at Grace United Church 2 to 3 hours a week, and to be available by phone during core business hours. This is a renewable one-year term position, with a probationary period of three months. The contract fee is $10,613 per year.

This position is open to applicants until 5pm, Friday, March 1st.

The job start date is March 18, 2024.
