The Health Force Division of Ontario Health drives the advancement of health human resources (HHR) initiatives with a focus on building and optimizing health workforce capacity in critical health system areas, supporting priority populations through equitable access to HHR, building provincial HHR data repositories, maximizing and optimizing health professional recruitment supports, and providing crisis response/system stabilization solutions to HHR challenges.
- The Project Manager, Strategy and Implementation will lead the coordination and successful implementation and delivery of strategic programs and/or multiple, inter-related projects. These strategic initiatives are often highly complex, and large-scale in nature, spanning multiple functions and/or business groups. The Project Manager, Strategy and Implementation will support both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful business outcomes. She/he will ensure that there is coordination of subsidiary programs or projects and that delivery is aligned across all initiatives. This position will report to the Senior Director, Health Force.
- Here is what you will be doing:
- Develop and oversee implementation of detailed project plan(s) and ensure the execution of the project plan(s) and deliverables. Projects include (but are not limited to) launching new health workforce funding initiatives, programs, products & services,-
- Support all aspects of the program lifecycle and work with matrix businesses, corporate, clinical and IT partners to oversee all phases of the program/project (including, as applicable, change management, process management, etc.) and ensure program/project structure is designed to achieve the intended business benefit-
- Track, monitor and communicate project/program progress and deliverables against project plan requirements, KPIs and quality measures, including various corporate reporting requirements (ABP, Major Projects, Risk and others)-
- Establish and maintain program/project governance, accountabilities and reporting for delivery with internal and external stakeholders-
- Build and manage cross-functional team schedule that meets project and departmental objectives-
- Coordinate cross-functional communication, problem-solving and team initiativesManage financial targets for funded projects and all OH allocated costs-
- Identify and manage risk using a structured risk management process within the context of the program-
- Lead the development of Transfer Payment Agreements in partnership with OH contract team-
- Represent OH at external meetings pertaining to the program with partners and stakeholders, as needed-
- Establish and maintain effective business and technical relationships with other functional teams-
- Demonstrate active listening and constructive feedback within team, and ability to facilitate problem-solving, decision making, and issue resolution-
- Mentor and coach junior team members to grow capabilities and expertise in leading programs/projects as needed-
- Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested;-
- Creates new or improves existing project and portfolio management standards (including processes and tools); and-
- Prepare reports, presentations and briefing for senior leaders-
- Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other corporate/departmental policies and procedures.-
