Description: Legal Assistant

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant. As a Legal Assistant, you will work very closely as part of a small legal team in support of two attorneys and will be involved in various legal files to provide essential support by performing various administrative and clerical tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the legal field to gain valuable experience and contribute to our success.

*Strong typing skills are essential for this role*
- Transcribe dictated correspondence and legal documents;
- Revise documents and correspondence to ensure that they comply with legal procedures andgrammatical usage;
- Prepare and draft various documents related to law (procedures, notices, etc.) and revision of procedures;
- Manage the agenda and coordinate the meetings of two lawyers while respecting deadlines and ensure a rigorous follow-up of files and management of schedules. Regularly follow up on files and update of the court agenda;
- Perform various searches: conflicts of interest, Registraire des entreprises, Court records, Land Registry, RDPRM, Superintendent of Bankruptcies, etc.;
- Assembly of procedures, exhibits, authorities binders;
- Manage the opening, paper and electronic filing, follow-up and organization of Court files. Perform other related duties.

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant. Legal experience a strong asset;
- Strong typing skills are essential for this role;
- Familiarity with legal terminology and processes is preferred;
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment is preferred;
- Training in legal secretarial or paralegal technology an asset;
- Excellent level of English and French, both spoken and written;
- Ability to communicate effectively with firm members and clients in a professional and courteous manner;
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential information;
- Capacity to work independently, as well as in a small and dynamic team environment;
- Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight timelines. Able to prioritize tasks as necessary;
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Pro;
- Excellent organizational abilities to carry out active follow-ups on files and with lawyers;
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Dynamic, autonomous and meticulous.

We offer competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time in-person position (no hybrid or remote) with regular office hours. PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS
- Transcrire la correspondance et les documents juridiques dictés ;
- Réviser les documents et la correspondance pour s'assurer qu'ils sont conformes aux procédures légales et à l'usage grammatical;
- Préparer et rédiger divers documents liés au droit (procédures, avis, etc.) et à la révision des procédures ;
- Gérer l'agenda et coordonner les réunions de deux avocats dans le respect des délais et assurer un suivi rigoureux des dossiers et la gestion des horaires;
- Suivi régulier des dossiers et mise à jour de l'agenda du tribunal ;
- Effectuer des recherches diverses : conflits d'intérêts, Registraire des entreprises, Dossiers du tribunal, Registre foncier, RDPRM, Surintendant des faillites, etc ;
- Montage de procédures, de pièces, de classeurs d'autorités ;
- Gérer l'ouverture, le classement papier et électronique, le suivi et l'organisation des dossiers de la Cour;
- Effectuer d'autres tâches connexes

COMPÉTENCES REQUISES

Minimum 2 ans d'expérience en tant qu'assistant administratif. Expérience dans le domaine juridique, un atout important ;
- De solides compétences en dactylographie sont essentielles pour ce poste ;
- Une bonne connaissance de la terminologie et des procédures juridiques est souhaitable
