MacEwan University invites applicants for a full-time continuing HR Associate, Compensation & Job Design position with our Organizational Design & Development team in Human Resources. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Organizational Design & Development (OD&D), you will work collaboratively within the OD&D unit to support various projects, initiatives, and operational work by performing job analysis, writing position descriptions, conducting job evaluations, coordinating and/or participating in project activities, completing salary surveys, and supporting other compensation and job design activities.

Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Maintain internal equity through conducting job analysis and job evaluation using the University's designated job evaluation plan(s) and Job Families Framework for MSA and OOS positions.
- Participate in projects that ensure the effectiveness of job evaluation program delivery (benchmarking, evaluation plan updates/maintenance, developing informational resources, etc.)
- Participate in organizational review projects by conducting or participating in interviews with leaders and/or employees, reviewing position/organizational documentation, designing and distributing information-gathering tools, and analyzing data and qualitative information.
- Design new jobs and redesign existing jobs and write position descriptions taking into consideration job evaluation implications.
- Participate in salary surveys, data analysis, and interpretation of results
- Provide compensation analytics, metrics, and reporting

**SKILLS**
- Excellent analytical and evaluative skills.
- Client focus: ability to develop effective partnerships; influencing skills (direct and indirect).
- Ability to work well under pressure, in ambiguous and complex situations, and adapt to an ever-changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain relationships with senior leadership, operational managers, a wide variety of staff, union representatives, and team members.
- Demonstrated communication, change management, interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience working in a unionized and/or public sector environment is an asset.
- Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite; the ability to utilize an HRIS system (such as PeopleSoft) is an asset.
