As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for working with the Project and Constructions Managers to ensure progress in meeting scheduled deadline and milestones:
**How will you contribute to the team?**
- Responsible for planning and organizing work, schedules and ordering materials
- Ensure safety protocols are put in place and followed by the work force
- Ensure that the environmental measures are effective and compliance within the project requirements
- Resolve problems affecting the successful completion of the work, in conjunction with the technical and survey departments
- Monitor, review and report subcontractor progress and works schedule
- Coordinate the design and construction interface with the other divisions on sites such as stations, structures, trackwork, etc.
- Monitor quality performance, manage Change Orders/ Potential Deviation Notices (PDN)
- Evaluate, negotiate, quantify and approve Change Orders
- Prepare bid documents for specific sections of the work
- Interface with the Client and third parties on a daily basis
- Facilitate obtaining any required permits
- Review budget on a monthly basis and prepare forecasts
- Evaluate, negotiate, quantify and approve changes
- Review, negotiate and approve progress payments and prepare progress reports

**What will you contribute?**
- Degree or diploma in Engineering or related field with a Mechanical and/or Electrical background
- Minimum of five to seven years previous experience in a similar role with increasing responsibilities, or a combination of education and related experience in the construction industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites software and other project management and design programs
- Experience in scheduling, safety, cost control and management
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience on a transit or rail project is an asset
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate with various staff and contractors daily
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in good standing
