Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate and monitor CHEO’s perfusion equipment for cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, cell saver and related point-of-care technologies- Administer medications and blood products to patients through bypass machines.- Provide on-call coverage to support urgent/emergent surgeries and ECMO initiation/discontinuation- Troubleshooting ECMO circuits and back-up support of ECMO specialists- Monitor and assess patients’ vital signs and physiological functions throughout surgeries to ensure safety.- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to provide optimal patient care.- Maintain and manage perfusion equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.- Prepare and review patients’ medical histories and notes to plan for surgeries.- Perform administrative duties, including equipment management, supply purchasing, and quality improvement initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion and/or American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion- Graduate of an accredited program in Cardiovascular Perfusion Technology- Hands-on clinical experience with pediatric perfusion (preferred)- Familiarity with key CV Surgery databases including PC4 and STS- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills and working in a multidiscipline team environment
