**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing biweekly payroll and providing guidance, advice and training to timekeepers including responding to employee enquiries. The position prepares payroll transactions and audits payroll information to ensure accurate and timely disbursement of employee compensation, benefits, and deductions. The Payroll Administrator prepares and reconciles remittances to CRA, benefits carriers, APS as well as administering specific pay deductions and payments. The position participates on and supports projects related to payroll administration enhancements and improvements.

The position functions both as a member of the payroll team and independently and must determine the most appropriate manner in which to complete day-to-day tasks and manage workload priorities. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll ensuring compliance to payroll related terms and conditions of the collective agreement, legislation and payroll tax. The position also collaborates with team members in identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements which includes testing system enhancements and changes.

To be successful in this role you will require strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work to prioritize tasks to adhere to timelines and meet critical deadlines. This position requires exceptional customer service, strong organizational skills and communication skills is required to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders and to resolve issues with diplomacy and tact.

**SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Minimum of a High School Diploma and at least 3 years of payroll experience in a complex computerized payroll system
- Experience working in a unionized environment would be an asset
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation would be an asset
- Microsoft Office knowledge with strong excel and word experience is required
- Accounting courses would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of e-Personality would be an asset would be an asset
