IT proudly provides the computer systems, security, IT services and governance that support AGLC’s businesses, including the operation & support of mission critical gaming, liquor and corporate systems running on a variety of computing platforms. IT ensures the stability and performance of a Local/Wide Area Network, which supports over 1,200 gaming locations and more than 2,000 computers/tablets, 150 physical and 2,000 virtual servers distributed across six corporate offices, casinos, RECs and bingo halls. IT provides leadership in the use of information technology, data and systems to help the AGLC achieve business goals and objectives.

**JOB SUMMARY**

**Note**: This is a temporary position with an initial term of 2 years that may be extended. (For the duration of the ERP Transformation Project). The primary work location is remote/online/telecommuting with a requirement to work from the office if required.

AGLC’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Transformation Project is reimagining the way we facilitate our core finance, supply chain, human resources and Information Technology functions. It will provide increased opportunity to streamline, automate and align processes with leading practices using modernized enterprise-class ERP technologies. This will further enable and enhance master data management and customer relationship management enterprise capabilities.

The role includes consultation with leadership, management, Finance, and Human Resource (HR) regarding payroll processes and practices and is responsible for ensuring compliance with all Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), collective agreement, pension, corporate policies and employment standards. Through the resolution of issues and implementation of effective solutions, the position strives to continually improve the administration of the payroll processing. The Payroll Supervisor prepares and analyzes payroll financial data monthly. This role is also responsible for analysis and financial reporting requirements for both calendar and fiscal year ends.

The position interacts with various stakeholders, internal and external concerning complex Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and payroll issues that require professional expertise.

The Payroll Supervisor leads a team of Payroll Administrators by managing accuracy and productivity of day-to-day operations by planning and effectively managing the team’s workload.

In this position you must be able to:

- Prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments
- Understand and explain impact of payroll changes to business
- Direct and lead a team as well a work independently
- Work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Analyze and assess issues/problems and develop solutions/options in a tight timeline
- Build and maintain good working relationships (internal and external)
- Lead to promote efficiency and effectiveness and motivate staff
- Understand accounting entries and general ledger reconciliations
- Facilitate meetings
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

**SKILLS/ABILITIES**

The position requires a post-secondary diploma in business administration supplemented with a Certified Payroll Manager certification, accounting courses, and 5 years of progressively responsible payroll experience with 3 years of supervisory experience in a complex computerized payroll system.

The position requires a good understanding and knowledge in the following areas:

- HRIS with knowledge of e-Personality being an asset
- Knowledge of CRA regulations and reporting requirements (T4, source deductions, PIER, garnishees)
- Extensive accounting skills as it relates to general ledger accounts reconciliations and payroll transactions
- Knowledge of payroll audit procedures and working paper requirements
- Interpretation of collective agreements
- Extensive understanding or APS Pension Plan administration (especially year end compliance)
- Basic understanding of benefits administration
- Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Excel and Word
