**Job Specific Information***:
Should this temporary vacancy be filled by a regular full-time employee, seniority and benefits will continue in the normal manner and the regular employee will continue to maintain normal, full-time status for the duration of the appointment.
If it becomes known that the position is permanent, it will be reposted and filled in the normal fashion.
**Job Description**:
***:Under the general supervision of the Supervisor and the technical direction and guidance of the Senior Payment Processing Clerk, receives and processes payments of accounts and services.
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Receives, and processes payment of Municipal, Provincial Land Tax Administration, TBayTel and Hydro accounts and services.
- Processes and reconciles payments received over the counter and by mail and prepares related reports.
- Records statistical data related to payment processing for various departments for monthly and yearly reporting.
- Reviews, updates and corrects mailing addresses for undeliverable mail of municipal accounts.
- Performs filing services to all sections of Revenue.
- Performs such other related duties as may be required.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Experience**:
- Secondary school graduation along with one year cash handling experience
**Skills/Abilities**:
- Must possess excellent customer service skills together with the ability to be courteous and tactful in dealing with the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely information/explanations to customers
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail
- Must be at a basic skill level in word processing and spreadsheet software and must possess basic on-line data entry skills
- Competent within the meaning of the _Occupational Health & Safety Act_
**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**:
- Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
- Must take an Oath of Secrecy.
