**About the Role**
Lead the Canadian Regional Service Center in a wide range of sales activities. Establish and maintain FLANDERS as a trusted partner with new and existing customers in heavy industry and mining. Develop customers by listening to their needs, offering innovative solutions, and serving them with excellence. Drive profitable growth through lead development, cultivation and follow through.
**Essential Skills**
- Develop strong business relationships with customers, including customer satisfaction for the FLANDERS As One strategy.
- Persistence in approaching new and prospective customers along with consistent follow-up.
- Develop and maintain a highly respectable image of FLANDERS in the eyes of customers, vendors and competitors to become a trusted partner.
- Travel to customers sites for introductory meetings as well as for the maintenance of existing relationships. Interact face-to-face with customers and prospects on a consistent (70% to 75%) basis.
- Meet or exceed annual sales goals established by executive management. Manage existing customer accounts for FLANDERS.
- Actively grow the sales pipeline through the use of coordinated activities with commercial and marketing resources.
- Work directly with other FLANDERS units, customers, and suppliers to demonstrate skill in negotiation, building consensus, and achieving compromise.
- Advise customers on sales information including identifying, communicating value, and implementing performance gap solutions.
- Effectively execute each stage of the sales process utilizing the sales funnel. Lead generation, quote/proposal, delivery, invoice and follow up. This is equally as important for both successful and unsuccessful sales to better understand areas for improvement in the product offering.
- Recognize the need and effectively utilize in-house technical experts to support the sale.
- Perform internal business administration functions on an as-needed basis.
**Requirements**:
- **Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree in heavy industrial business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and sales experience.
- Alternatively, an electrical trade background combined with sales experience or aptitude
- **Experience**:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Sales in motor repair, mining, or heavy industrial sales.
- **Other**:
- Strong desire to increase technical knowledge, learn about mechanical and electrical aspects of motors, and power generation.
- Proven track record in qualifying and converting leads to sales.
- Proven experience meeting and exceeding established sales goals.
- Experience with CRM preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of personal computers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong listening skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present in one-to-one or group settings.
- Strong self-initiative with the ability to effectively work without direct supervision.
- Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division including understanding fractions and percentages.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple to complex written and verbal instructions.
- Frequent travel including overnight required.
