Kababayan Multicultural Centre (KMC) is a dedicated non-profit settlement organization that aims to empower the immigrant community by providing effective and client-centered programs and services accessible to all. We are committed to helping newcomers and immigrants start their new life in Canada by providing relevant information and services such as newcomer orientation sessions, settlement and employment counselling, skills training, English conversation circles, community connections and more.

We are seeking a creative, skilled Digital Community Engagement Specialist, with a growth and strategic mindset. This role is vital in enhancing our online presence and engaging effectively with a diverse community of newcomers and immigrants. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement an outreach and community engagement plan to increase awareness of KMC’s programs and services online, consistent with the policies and standards of the organization and funders.
- Explore and identify new approaches to enhance KMC’s online presence
- Oversee the organization’s social media platforms, including building and maintaining an online community of newcomers and immigrants
- Create and manage relevant content for KMC’s social media and website, such as short videos, graphics, event calendar, blogs etc.
- Develop and maintain social media and content calendar for KMC
- Collaborate with staff to promote group sessions and other activities in KMC’s digital platforms
- Connect with community partners for content creation such as guest speaker/ writers for webinars, videos and blogs.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders such as members, volunteers, clients and staff to capture and share compelling stories
- Create engaging presentations and deliver webinars with the goal of increasing community awareness about KMC
- Monitor, analyze and report on website and social media metrics, communicating findings to management and staff
- Design promotional materials such as brochures, posters, flyers etc. for distribution
- Remain alert to immigration and settlement trends to guide content development and improvement
- Provide documentation support such as capturing videos and photos for the organization’s events and other relevant activities.
- Work closely with management and IT staff to improve the user experience of KMC’s website.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
- Assist in special projects aimed at improving digital platforms and online engagement.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in related field or equivalent training/work experience.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working with newcomers and immigrants, facilitating settlement and/or employment support
- Proven experience in outreach, partnership building and community engagement
- Advanced proficiency in content creation and management tools including Canva, HootSuite, Adobe Creative Cloud products, etc.
- Working knowledge of basic web design and tools (e.g. Wix)
- Advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
- Proficient in identifying and leveraging current marketing trends to develop content and strategies that effectively engage target audience
- Excellent storytelling skills, able to engage the audience effectively through various formats (graphics, videos, written content)
- Requires a creative mindset and the ability to intuitively understand and appeal to the interests of the target audience
- Technologically proficient and must possess an innovative and growth-oriented mindset, with a willingness to learn, experiment, and utilize a range of digital tools for enhancing client engagement and user experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey messages in a professional and engaging manner;
- Superior writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Able to deliver engaging presentations and facilitate webinars
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and prioritizing effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish rapport with members, staff, clients and volunteers
- Flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to communicate in another language is an asset
- Quick learner, team player and self-motivated
