The Digital Content Specialist is part of the Marketing and Communications team and works to help promote our programs and position the YMCA of Greater Toronto as a leader in child development through long

**In this role, you will**:
**Content Development & Delivery**
- Work directly with the Child & Family Development program lead(s) and the Marketing and Communications team to develop editorial calendars. Create and prepare content in a timely, high-quality and engaging manner, for dissemination throughout the YMCA’s digital platforms, aligned to program objectives, brand tone, and timelines.
- Research and compose compelling stories and create digital content marketing materials aligned to brand guidelines, key messages, and priorities.
- Once content is developed, optimize and distribute content across multiple digital platforms that meet our current and prospective audience’s needs.
- Manage, create, and update content on dedicated program pages on ymcagta.org or additional websites, landing pages, and microsites, including acquisition forms and online calendars, as needed.
- Communicate facility and program closures across our digital platforms, as needed.
- Work in collaboration with other departments and stakeholders to proactively secure opportunities to raise awareness of the activities, charitable impact, mission, and vision of the YMCA of Greater Toronto through our digital platforms as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the Digital Production Team on content planning and integration, charity-wide communication needs, and program cross-promotions, as required.

**Audience Engagement & Customer Service**:

- Maintain all aspects of day-to-day Child & Family Development community engagement across all digital channels including, but not limited to, YMCA social media channels and additional sites related to our brand and program topics of interest (e.g., Google).
- Engage with online audiences to develop and maintain relationships with key influencers and content consumers, and protect and enhance the reputation of the YMCA of Greater Toronto.

**Digital Landscape Monitoring & Skills Development
**- Attend regular training, skills upgrading, and style alignment meetings and workshops with the Digital Production Team.
- Effectively analyse and measure campaigns by setting up, tracking, reporting, and optimizing content based on key performance metrics.
- Serve as a key resource for online best practices and digital platform 101s for program stakeholders and staff.

**Other Duties**:

- The Digital Content Specialist demonstrates appropriate behaviours in line with our Mission, Vision and Values as reflected in our YMCA competencies; takes a participant/member-focused approach to increase their understanding of programs offered across the charity. Represents the YMCA and the charity in a professional manner.
- Understands the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with members, volunteers, donors and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

**You bring**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in Business, with a concentration in communications, marketing, content strategy or technology preferred
- Excellent copywriting and content development skills (short-form and long-form) for multiple digital platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Minimum of 2-3 years of online communications, social media, and content dissemination experience
- Relevant knowledge and experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, and blogs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Photography and social video creation and editing experience an asset
- Well-developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Strong customer-service focus
- Knowledge of YMCA programs and services, and the child care sector and services, is an asset
- Strong organizational, time-management and multitasking skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility regarding assigned work schedule
- Weekly travel across the GTA is required for this role
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience and sensitivity in dealing with members of different cultural and racial backgrounds, including
