**Human Resource Manager**
The Human Resource Manager works with our Building Supplies locations throughout Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Ontario, as well as our Distribution, Flooring, Truss Manufacturing, Concrete, Furniture and Transportation divisions.
You will oversee staffing, training, employee relations, performance management, group benefits management, and compliance. You will play a critical role in shaping our company culture and ensuring a positive employee experience to achieve the highest level of success for both the staff and the overall company.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement strategies related to staffing, employee retention, performance management, training and talent management to build our customer service levels
- Assist with recruiting and employee search initiatives
- Create and deliver training programs to ensure the success of each employee
- Advise Managers on effective employee engagement and communication strategies
- Oversee and manage a comprehensive performance management system
- Develop annual work force and staffing plans for each location
- Oversees administration of Group Benefits Program including communication, claims processing and program updates
- Stay up to date with labor laws and regulations in Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan to ensure company policies and practices comply with legal requirements
- Support a positive work environment where employees thrive and contribute to the organization’s goals
- Be a self-motivated individual with good communication, strong organizational and time management skills
- Enjoy working both in a team environment and independently.
- Experience in supporting the training of employees
- Have a strong understanding of Employment Standards and Regulations, Human Rights and HR best practices
- A bachelor's degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration is required.
- Several years of experience as a personnel officer or human resource specialist are required.
