Calgary, Canada Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council Full time

**EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT & MENTOR RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR**

**Full-Time Hybrid**

**About Us**

The Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC) is a not-for-profit organization that assists internationally trained professionals with developing and executing strategies leading to successful employment outcomes. Our vision is a welcoming community that encourages, fosters, and enables every person to reach their potential. CRIEC has successfully developed a solid mentorship program supporting the integration of newcomer professionals into the Canadian job market. More recently we have added resources to develop programming to support Canadian employers in developing an inclusive work environment, filling vacant job roles with international talent, and creating meaningful partnerships to strengthen the job market in Canada.

CRIEC is undertaking a multi-year project in collaboration with Bow Valley College (BVC) to provide a continuum of support for Internationally Educated Health Professionals (IEHPs) navigating the credential recognition and licensing process in Canada. Under the **IEHP (Internationally Educated Health Professionals) Pathway to Employment Program (IEHP-PEP),** provisions will be offered to newcomers throughout their journey by matching IEHPs with industry-specific mentors. Mentors will provide guidance, including job search strategies, contextualizing the Canadian workplace and culture, setting goals, developing contacts, identifying resources, and role modeling. An innovative platform, tailored to the individualized needs of the IEHPs will be developed by BVC to expedite the assessment and credentialing process. The compilation of support is intended to reduce barriers, streamline the licensure process, and lead to successful employment outcomes.

**Position Summary**:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our small robust team as the Employer Engagement & Mentor Recruitment Coordinator supporting the Internationally Educated Health Professional (IEHP) project. Reporting to the IEHP’s Program Manager & Employer Engagement Manager, this role will focus on the integration of the Foreign Credential Recognition Program, aiming to eliminate international barriers that trained nurses encounter in securing high-quality and relevant jobs in the Canadian healthcare system. This role will be critical in facilitating employer participation, organizing forums, and ensuring a valuable experience for all participants. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of international talent integration in Canada and support employers in creating more inclusive workplaces.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Project Coordination and Facilitation**:

- Develop and implement strategies to engage participants and mentors in our program.
- Serve as a facilitator during the forums, ensuring effective participation, engagement, and knowledge exchange among attendees.
- Develop and execute employer engagement strategies to recruit mentors and increase the employer’s capacity to attract, recruit, and retain IEHPs.
- Provide support and guidance to program participants in securing internships, job placements, and mentorship opportunities.
- Attend recruitment/job fairs to promote the launch of the IEHP-PEP

**Employer Outreach and Engagement**:

- Identify and engage key employers and project partners to participate in the IEHPs program.
- Develop employer engagement strategy, priorities, and key activities.
- Attend conferences and events to raise awareness and share resources, best practices, and research on the International Educated Health Professional Pathway to Employment Program (IEHP-PEP)
- Develop and implement an outreach strategy to promote the IEHPs and encourage employer involvement.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with employers, industry associations, regulatory bodies, and relevant organizations to foster ongoing engagement and collaboration.
- Provide guidance and support to employers, addressing their needs, and concerns, and facilitating connections to relevant resources.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Graduate degree in a relevant field such as business, human resources, or social sciences or a bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in employer engagement, stakeholder management, or related roles, preferably in the context of diversity, inclusion, or talent management.
- Strong knowledge of immigrant talent integration challenges and best practices within the Canadian context.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with employers and stakeholders from diverse industries and backgrounds.
- Experience in organizing and facilitating events, workshops, or forums, with a focus on knowledge exchange and collaborative discussions.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and interactive engagement methods.
- Strong project managem
