**The Role: Employment Facilitator (Full-time)**
The Employment Facilitator is responsible for planning and implementing opportunities and activities that focus on employment to promote self-sufficiency, independence and the successful integration of immigrant to Calgary. These opportunities and activities include but are not limited to, employment skills workshops, resume and cover letter building support, interview prep and practice, employment searching, education of Canadian and Alberta labor laws, navigating appropriate workplace dress, work experience programs, language and social norms. The Employment Facilitator will support youth and adults both one on one and in group settings.
**Key Tasks & Responsibilities**:
- Create and conduct outreach and awareness raising presentations for schools, external committee meetings, companies, and other community partners.
- Assist in the design of innovative, engaging, low barrier employment programs that encourage and support successful integration and meet the needs of immigrant youth in Calgary.
- Deliver ongoing skill development and employment training sessions.
- Using community partnerships, establish multiple sites where programs can be delivered that are accessible to immigrant youth.
- Bring in guest employment related facilitators to run specific employment programs periodically.
- Deliver programs with a culturally aware and strength-based lens to facilitate self-sufficiency.
- Be a liaison with families and provide translation when necessary.
- Support and encourage the individual’s natural support network.
- Provide referrals to other Trellis supports and external services when appropriate.
- Other duties as required.
**Outcome Reporting and Data Management**
- Responsible for collecting necessary documents for service provision including immigration information and all intake information as required by Trellis.
- Responsible for monthly reporting including icare data entry, success stories, activity summaries, and all reporting required by the manager.
- Collection of surveys and feedback from participants.
**Knowledge & Skills Expectations**
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Education, Child and Youth Care, Behavioral Science, Psychology, Intercultural Studies, or a related discipline with a concentration on cultural studies.
- Teaching English as a Second Language training will be considered an asset.
- 1-3 years experience in working with immigrant youth and/or populations in a community setting.
