**Job Description**:

The Assistant, SSC Regional QI, works with all team members to ensure innovations, quality improvement ideas and quality projects being undertaken through the PQI/SQI program are communicated across the health authority. The Assistant, SSC Regional QI, also provides support to, and coordination of, quality improvement activities, education and coaching.

Island Health is undertaking an enhanced approach to quality improvement, through an innovative partnership formed in 2015 with the Specialist Services Committee (SSC), which includes providing physicians an opportunity to lead quality initiatives. With approved funding for multiple years, a number of staff including the Program Assistant will be tasked to support the efforts of this initiative.

Reporting to the Manager, Physician Quality Improvement Programs, the Assistant, SSC Regional QI, is responsible for providing direct administrative, secretarial and data support to PQI/SQI leadership, assisting with facilitation of quality improvement initiatives and strategies associated with the development, management and evaluation of PQI/SQI activity within Island Health.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education training and experience equivalent to high school graduation, plus additional, relevant coursework in project management, quality improvement, and/or communications and three (3) years' related work experience in a large complex organization and coordination of large-scale event programs.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Proficiency in relevant computer programs including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Ability to prioritize workload and attend to detail, and complete varied assignments while dealing with frequent interruptions and deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven numeric and analytical skills.
- Excellent keyboarding and typing skills.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
