**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, Health Information Management (HIM), the Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, development and implementation of Island Health policy in alignment with service delivery and operations for HIM - Informatics across Island Health. The Regional Manager is responsible for short and long term planning, design, standardization, implementation and delivery of effective and efficient Health Information initiatives that assist in the successful transitioning to a fully integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) throughout Island health programs and services.

The Regional Manager is responsible for regional Health Information Management initiatives and related projects that result in the automation and/or enhancement of health information practices, access to patient/client information and clinical documentation via the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management and seven (7) years of recent Health Informatics experience in a large multi-site organization including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a management or leadership role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Eligible for registration at the Certificate level with the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) preferred.

- Demonstrated project management experience with multi-faceted projects and stringent timelines.
- Proven team player, contributes to team goals, encourages and supports team members and ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels and with varying backgrounds.
- Ability to prepare effective presentations and train others.
- Demonstrated clinical competence.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
