Job Title: Accounting Clerk (Part time, potential for full time)

Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bank and account reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date
- Maintain general ledger and record journal entries to ensure all transactions are documented correctly
- Post vendor and customer invoices, accurately managing incoming and outgoing payments
- Process accounts payable checks and handle various payment methods with precision
- Prepare daily bank deposits, ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Oversee monthly GST/PST filings, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
- Support in various administrative and clerical duties related to finance operations
- Collaborate with other team members to support continuous process improvements
- Knowledge of Simply Accounting and Sage 50 considered a strong asset
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle high volumes of data entry with accuracy
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to interact with different departments
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and meet critical deadlines
- Familiarity with Simply Accounting and/or Sage 50 is highly desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and accounting software
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
