**About the role**

We’re looking for a **Corporate Specialist **to join our growing team

As a Property & Casualty Specialist in the National Corporate P&C team, you will be responsible for supporting Specialty Solutions with a focus in the **Specialty Equipment Breakdown **line of business.

**What you’ll do here**:

- Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets
- Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting
- Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact's product offering to the competition
- Research technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
- Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis.
- Perform technical underwriting audits
- Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products.
- Provide underwriting training, lending expertise colleagues and distribution underwriters

**What you bring to the table**:

- University degree/College diploma and completed CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional), or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant Commercial/Specialty Equipment Breakdown underwriting experience
- Detailed knowledge of P&C wordings, products, appetite and philosophies, along with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
- Experience with Large/Complex placements is an asset
- Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
- Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
- Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills
- Can work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills
- High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
- Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and Underwriters experience
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset
- Willing to travel on occasion
