What You Will Do

Contribute to ongoing efforts in Health and Safety data analysis and reporting. Including production of documents and graphics about health and safety performance of the organization showing how responsible mining generates a positive health and safety culture for all stakeholders. Support the data management and reporting functions of the Health and Safety Team. Develop and maintain data presentation formats, trend analysis, and other methods to help analyze the Company's Health and Safety data and assess performance. Identify continuous improvement as it relates to the underlying business process related to data collection, analysis and reporting.

Additionally, working from our corporate office gives you context about our sites and how they all tie into the broader portfolio, and impact shareholders and the market. The teams you will be working with are engaged and high-performing and include approachable people from all walks of life. They are very hands-on and take mentorship seriously, so you will receive a lot of support, guidance, and training to gain the skills you need to get the job done. By the end of your internship, you will have developed and enhanced understanding of how corporate health and safety supports Kinross.

Must Haves
2nd or 3rd year student is studying a degree in Health and Safety
The Applicant must have their own lodgings in Toronto for the duration of the placement
Prior experience or interest in data analysis and reporting would be a plus
Strong knowledge and use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
Up-to-date knowledge about health and safety and/or data science
Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence tolls (Power BI, etc.)
Nice to Haves
Language skills in French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Spanish
Experience working with culturally diverse teams
Active extracurriculars
A demonstrated interest of having a career in mining
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite
