- Become a key member of the Risk Management team providing a critical linkage between Fraser Health and external parties, including the Risk Management Branch of the Provincial Government, external law firms, other health authorities and internal partners.
- Embrace specific responsibility for triaging and prioritizing the Risk Management department service desk for new requests for consults and other services.
- Support Fraser Health employees through the claims & litigation process.
- Manage all legal documentation for insured liability claims through the department’s claims & litigation database and file system.
- Provide general guidance and analytical support to Fraser Health departments on claims, insurance and risk issues.
- Provide paralegal and administrative support to ensure compliance with Fraser Health’s records management protocol, and the incumbent will assist other Risk Management colleagues in reporting and investigation follow-up related to potential liability claims and actual litigation.
- Provide coroner investigation support and assist with the management of uninsured claims not covered by the Health Care Protection Program (HCPP) as required.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Regular Full-time Risk Management Paralegal**. This position will be **Remote/Hybrid **based in Surrey, British Columbia.

- Bachelor’s degree or completion of a college diploma with successful completion of recognized courses in a paralegal, risk management or general Insurance.
- 5 years recent related experience in claims and/or risk management, legal or related field in a large complex organization.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.

Reporting to the Leader, Risk Management Services, the Risk Management Paralegal is a key member of the Risk Management team providing a critical linkage between Fraser Health and external parties, including the Risk Management Branch of the Provincial Government, external law firms, other health authorities and internal partners. The position works independently to assess the need and priority for claims and litigation management to balance the workflow and demands of the litigation process and internal demands of the department. This role will also have specific responsibility for triaging and prioritizing the Risk Management service desk for incoming new requests for consults and other services to the department.
