**The Role**
**Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
- Supervision and support for the project accounting team which includes all project-related accounting and contract management functions (job costing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract management)
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of all data within the project accounting software and create accurate financial reports, while supporting Project Managers
- Project and budget setup
- Reconciliation of subcontractor invoices/contracts and posting of subcontractor invoices
- Preparation and payment of payment certificates to subcontractors
- Understand contract financial terms and conditions, invoice schedules, and invoice documentation (Statutory Declarations, Workers’ Compensation Clearances, etc.)
- Preparation and posting of monthly progress bills to clients based upon direction from Project Managers
- Biweekly accounts receivable updates
- Internal audit of projects
- Other related accounting duties as assigned
**The Requirements**
- Professional accounting designation
- 3-5 years’ experience in an Assistant Controller role, preferably in a construction environment
- Experience managing/supervising a team
- Strong work ethic with a relentless drive to fulfill commitments
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience in job costing software (Jonas preferred) and construction management software (Procore preferred) is considered an asset
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
