**Manager, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion**

**Responsibilities**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
**Creating a Culture of a Sense of Belonging**
- Manages and implements the college’s EDI framework and dashboard and will work with colleagues in the Office of EDI, the EDI Steering Committee, and divisional EDI Sub-Committees and other college stakeholders to share better practices, advice, resources, supports.
- In collaboration with EDI team members, establishes and supports the EDI Employee and Student Task Forces representing equity-deserving groups.
- Sources, develops and delivers EDI, anti-racism and other anti-oppression training opportunities, workshops and coaching for departments and employees on how to implement the College EDI Commitments, Action Plans, framework and tools.
- Develops and administers evaluation and assessment tools to determine the efficacy of initiatives and programs.
- Reviews college policies and training programs to ensure compliance with EDI principles and human rights legislation and other relevant legislation.
- Identifies opportunities for funding and grants as it relates to EDI across the College and develops proposals to secure funding to grow programs and initiate new initiatives.
- Establishes, coordinates and provides support to equity, inclusion and human rights related advisory committees, working groups, divisional committees or roundtables.
- Supports the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer to organize and conduct relevant consultations.

**Research and Report Writing**
- Researches and presents better practices and options for programs, services and policies including the assessment of implications and feasibility of options and implementation strategies.
- Researches and develops appropriate conceptual and analytical framework for policy and program development and analysis including conducting qualitative research on demographic trends and using insights to make recommendations to strategies for enhancing EDI initiatives.
- Monitors current social, economic and political trends and issues including pending legislation and Ministry directives that will have an impact on equity-deserving groups and underrepresented populations and uses the findings to prepare briefing notes, reports and or drafting recommended changes to policies and procedures.

**Communications, Outreach and Engagement**
- Working in collaboration with the Communications Department, develops engaging employee and learner messaging and strategies to promote EDI principles and initiatives.
- Develops and implements effective engagement and communication strategies to promote and support various EDI initiatives.
- Manages outreach and engagement strategies of the departmental events and activities by promoting EDI priorities and objectives.
- Builds and maintains networks and coordination mechanisms with other post-secondary institutions, educational institutions, community groups, other stakeholders or strategic partners.
- Represents the College at internal and external meetings, collaborations, corporate, intergovernmental and multi-sectoral meetings, community of practice and provincial committees as required.

**Leadership & Management of Team**
- ** **The incumbent oversees the recruiting, hiring, termination, training, disciplining, short
- and long-term planning of the EDI department.
- The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership, motivating, and building strong teams and for directing staff to appropriate professional development opportunities.

**Managing Budgets**
- Ensures that the projects and program expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budgets.
- Develops, monitors and reconciles budgets related to EDI and anti-racism initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Honours Bachelor’s degree in a related filed such as Critical Race Studies, EDI, Human Rights and Human Diversity, Sociology, Social Work or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
