We are looking for a dynamic professional to join our organization as a **Human Resources Generalist**. This is a 12-month contract position (to cover a maternity leave). This person will support our HR practice across all Tessera Group brands including George A. Wright & Son Toronto Ltd. (Scarborough), MD Packaging Inc. (Uxbridge), and Penmar Automation Inc. (Newmarket).

**About the Role**:
The **Human Resources Generalist **is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs and practices.

**Key Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations
- Manage and monitor performance-related issues and implement changes that could increase productivity
- Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives
- Work towards improving company policies and procedures
- Administer benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee and health and safety related initiatives
- Be well-versed in laws and regulations related to human resources

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience in Human Resources
- CHRP designation a strong asset
- 3-5+ years’ experience in HR generalist role. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and analytical skills
- Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize, plan and execute
- Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to take ownership
- Self-motivated, strong hands-on work ethic
- Ability to work in office (the majority of your time will be spent in the Scarborough location with occasional travel to the facilities in Uxbridge and Newmarket)
