**About the role**
**_ We’re looking for a Unit Manager, OPL to join our growing team_**
We are currently looking for an individual with exceptional analytical, detail-oriented and organizational skills for a Unit Manager role in our Commercial Lines and Specialty Solutions Operations & Planning QA Team. Reporting to the CL-SL Operations & Planning QA Manager, the incumbent oversees the Quality Assurance (QA) team, their professional development and operational efficiency. Responsible to develop and coach approximately 10+ direct reports (this number varies on business need).
**What you’ll do here**:
- Active participation in projects and committees; working to raise particular concerns and needs of management and influence decisions.
- Build strategic relationships, liaising with the various departments: IT, Actuarial, Commercial Auto, Underwriting, Marketing, National Web Team, and within the Operations and Planning Teams (Operations, Program/Project Management, Business Analysis).
- Positive Change Agent responsible for continuous improvement of new approaches and processes.
- Lead, assist and coach team members.
- Provide guidance and direction for direct reports and establish objectives to ensure resources are optimized and business goals (project vision) are met.
- Responsible for employee engagement level.
- Capacity Planning: Ensure adequate resources are available to meet the project plan as it evolves; and complete continuous monthly monitoring and updating of the plan, escalating any resource issues to manager.
- Having a sense of urgency and adequately address priorities and escalations.
- Maintain a quality focus and proactively manage workflows and resources within team to ensure service standards and deadlines are met.
- Participate and give approval to put in production related to major changes in determining whether the quality of the deliverable is acceptable taking into account the amount of tests depending on the complexity of the case and problems. Consider the impact on internal and external users.
- Act as a resource person for internal clients and colleagues by answering questions on the systems.
- Approve the overall quality assurance of the testing, meet the acceptance criteria level that supports the implementation of deliverables.
**What you bring to the table**:
- Bachelor's degree [Management, Information Systems] or work experience in a related field.
- 1 to 3 years prior management experience in quality assurance.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of testing principles, methodologies, tools and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Good understanding of Automation capabilities.
- Demonstrated excellence in planning and organizing.
- Strong teamwork, communication and relationship building skills, demonstrated experience managing.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills required.
- Bilingualism, French and English, is considered a strong asset - Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country
- Be comfortable with ambiguity, change and perform well under stress.
