**Project Assistant**

**Full-Time Contract - 12 Months (with possibility of extension)**

**$45,510 - $59,000 Annual Salary**

Ontario Health North, Maamwesying Ontario Health Team and Health Sciences North have created a collaborative partnership to introduce and implement the **Lower Limb Preservation Strategy (LLPS)** in northeastern Ontario.

Qualifications:
1. Minimum of a one (1) year Diploma in a Medical Office Administration field, from an accredited college.

2. Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

3. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an administrative assistant role within a health care environment.

4. Experience working with data management software is required.

5. Training or recent experience with project management is an asset.

6. Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information.

7. Demonstrated training, experience or utilization in process improvement.

8. Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.

9. Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and patient information systems.

10. Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

11. Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, multiple tasks/projects, diversified workload and rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.

12. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology.

13. Knowledge of, and interest in the health issues affecting Anishnabe people.

14. Valid driver’s license with access to reliable vehicle.

15. Ability to travel across Northeastern Ontario.

16. Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of First Nation cultural values and traditions and interest in health issues affecting.

17. Knowledge of, and interest in the health issues affecting Anishnabe people.

18. Ability to speak Ojibway language is an asset.

19. Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

20. Successful criminal reference check is required.

21. Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours as required
- Given the traditional practices of Aboriginal people, from time to time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.
