Deposit Monitoring Officer - Overnight Shift Halifax

**WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?**

Working as part of a team in the Digital Cheque Processing centre you would be responsible for various duties including pre-clearing, verification and resolution of items received through all Digital Cheque Processing channels. This role will be responsible for ensuring all individual activities are completed on time and per quality thresholds to minimize the risk of financial loss and negative client impact.

**Please note, the hours for this position are 10pm to 6am AST, part of our overnight team**

**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- Various duties which could include the completion of pre-clearing image capture activities and resolution of items received through DCP channels.
- Review and verification of payment items received through non-client facing channels to ensure appropriate negotiation validations are completed.
- Complete resolving actions and engage service partners as needed to conclude
- Ensure any items intended for clearing and settlement to other Financial Institutions are processed in a timely manner, minimizing financial risk
- Responsible for the delivery of high-quality service to clients and service partners, including high levels of accuracy and adherence to agreed upon service levels and timeframes
- Ensure full compliance to all controls, both regulatory and internal, including RBC policies and processes and the Canadian Payments Association (CPA) clearing rules
- Adopts a continuous improvement mindset by proactively identifying and recommending solutions to recurring errors, service gaps and process efficiency and effectiveness Enhancements

**WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?**

**Must have**:

- Excellent keyboarding skills with a high degree of speed, accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid knowledge of all Regulatory and Compliance rules - CPA rules
- Strong investigation and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational team
- Change management minded

**Nice-to-have**:

- Previous data entry experience
- Experience in a banking environment

**Education / experience**
- High school diploma
- Some university recommended
