**Hours**: Typically 25-37.5 hours per week, requires a flexible schedule (some evening and Saturday availability, with preference given to someone who can work a Tuesday to Saturday workweek), and the ability to work at both the Victoria and Langford locations. Training will take place primarily at the Victoria location. Hours will normally be between 30-37.5 hours per week with summer hours averaging 25 hours per week.
**Compensation**: $21.00 per hour and potential pay increase after 3-month probationary period, plus a competitive benefit package, including a bonus paid vacation week at Winter Break, Extended Health, a Dental Health Spending Account, and Personal Wellness Days.
**Start Date**: Mid-January 2025.

The Conservatory front desk administrative team is a small, dedicated group of 5 or 6 staff who collaborate each day to support our wonderful students and faculty. We are proud of the musical opportunities the Conservatory offers students of all ages and strive to provide a professional environment for each other and for all members of this special musical community We thrive on effective communication, are a flexible, supportive, solutions-orientated team and whenever possible, work to each other’s skill sets and strengths.
Under the supervision of the Registrar, this position requires an energetic, friendly, patient, and resourceful person to serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, clients, and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing excellent internal and external customer service.
- Registration of students.
- Management of student accounts (processing payments, adjusting enrollments as needed).
- Answering phones and addressing and/or directing callers accordingly.
- Assisting the administrative and management staff as needed.
- General reporting of student accounts and registration.
- Production of signage, programs, and posters as needed.
- Processing of point-of-sale items, including miscellaneous sales and Box Office tickets.
- Day-end cash-out and depositing.
- Practice room allocation.
**Skills**:
- Ability to multi-task and exercise good judgment when prioritizing assigned duties.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with management.
- Ability to exhibit a professional and positive attitude with a commitment to quality service, including professional and clear communication.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to complete time-sensitive assignments with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, remaining calm and focused during high-volume registration periods.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Recent experience working in an educational or office environment.
- Preference given to those with a postsecondary credential.
- Music background and/or formal education an asset.
- First aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
Other
- Training will take place primarily at the Victoria location.
- Potential to include Front of House Coordinator shifts: managing volunteer ushers, handling ticket sales, and overseeing Venue traffic and entrance control.
