**Position Details**- We are seeking a creative and motivated person to assist with coordination and delivery of the DE Youth STEM Outreach programs. DE is the University of Lethbridge’s Youth STEM organization located in the new Science Commons on campus with a mission to bring science and technology to life in a fun and educational manner. As a member of Destination Exploration, you will join a national network of STEM outreach programs under Actua, Canada’s largest STEM outreach organization. This will include program development, Implementation, evaluation, and growth of our diverse and dynamic roster of youth programs.
- If hired, you will work alongside our team of outreach leaders and volunteers. There is some flexibility in this position, but specific duties will include:
- Building strong community connections
- Delivering programs, as well as coordination and development of both new and existing programs
- Managing scheduling, planning, logístical arrangements and coordination of staffing to support programs both on and off campus.
- Marketing, including responsibility for DE’s social media presence and website
- Advertising and promotion of DE’s programs
- Cross-functional program coordination in implementing creative program planning
- Maintaining the quality of DE’s offerings, and acting as an ambassador for the university
- Ensuring that programs operate in a timely and cost efficient manner
- Assisting with seeking out external funding and business opportunities

DE operates under the umbrella of the Faculty of Arts & Science and offers STEM outreach programs for adults and youth. These include school visits (Traveling Lab Coats), after school STEM clubs for elementary and middle school age groups, family and community events and week-long science and technology camps. We also work with local community groups such as the Boys and Girls club, Opokaa’sin, and local Girl Guides to offer STEM activities and programs in many different locations and settings.**Position Qualifications**
- A University degree in a related discipline, and a minimum two years related experience
- A passion for youth outreach, and a desire to share this passion
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills as you communicate with various academic and administrative departments on campus, and as well external funding agencies
- Comfort with facilitating and directing new and inspiring idea creation, and learning new technology and concepts in preparation for bringing them into the classroom
- Self-starter, comfortable with working unsupervised, and at ease in a classroom setting
- Ability to deliver programs either on or off campus
- You must have or be able to obtain a First Aid certificate, a Class 5 Driver’s License, and a criminal record check (including vulnerable sector)
- Experience working with children in a leadership capacity is essential

**Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)**
- $4,576.00 - $5,114.00 monthly

**Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)**
- $4,576.00 - $5,652.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 9)
