**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Short Term Intervention Services, the Central Team Clerk supports the site's centralized interdisciplinary teams including the Quick Response Team (QRT), Community Liaison Nurses and Central Intake/Central Booking. The Team Clerk provides records management, word processing, admitting, data entry, communications and other administrative support services according to regional standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
High school graduation, including courses in word processing, databases, spreadsheets and office administration; plus a Certificate in Medical Terminology. Two years general office experience in an administrative support including experience with database systems and with the use of medical terminology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of office practices and filing systems. Knowledge of businessEnglish, spelling, punctuation, current office methods and procedures and equipment.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to type 50 wpm.
- Ability to operate a computer including word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
- An aptitude for mathematics.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to compose routine letters and memoranda.
- Ability to work within deadlines.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with professionals, other team members and the general public.
