Human Resources Manager-non-union, Part-time

**Position Description**
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, and in accordance with the vision, values, and strategic goals of the organization this position will provide domain expertise in human resources. Through a feminist and intersectional lens, this position will ensure all human resource functions are aligned, implemented, and maintained consistent with the agency’s policies and procedures, the collective agreement, and all employment/human resource related legislation.
**Key Activities**
- Design and deliver human resource strategies that align with IHOH’s strategic plan and where possible best practices.
- Continuously review and update organizational policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and the collective agreement.
- Provide leadership, participation, and consulting in labor relations, including collective bargaining, performance management, progressive discipline, grievances, and arbitration.
- Ensure legal compliance.
- Participate in employee recruitment and retention processes, manage employee information, on-board new employees, and implement employee wellness programs.
- Develop, deliver, and track employee training in key human resource areas; coordinate external training, when appropriate.
- Assist management with the employee performance process, assessments, goal setting and reviews.
- Provide an annual review of the employee benefit package and provide insight into improvements.
- Onboard and orient eligible staff to the employee benefit package.
- As a certified JHSC certified representative, provide leadership in the agency’s health and safety programs and strategies, including co-chairing the JHSC meeting.
- Lead and participate in all maters related to workplace injury prevention, workplace injury, WSIB maters and IHOH’s Safe and Early Return to Work program.
- Support the relationship between employees and management through excellent conflict resolution skills, negotiation, mentoring, and problem-solving.
- Document and maintain human resources files.
- Provide human resources information to assist with the agency’s budgeting and financial monitoring processes.
- In collaboration with the Executive Director plan and organize agency-wide communications and the annual staff recognition event.
- Designated Privacy Officer for the agency to answer questions about how the agency collects, uses, keeps, and discloses personal information.
- Provide annual salary recommendations for non-union employees.
- Adhere to Interval House policies, philosophies, procedures, and work practices, including remote work policies.
- Act as an ambassador for IHOH at community events, meetings, committees, etc.
- Using a key performance indicator (KPI) as an evaluation tool, review data and ensure program outcomes meet established targets.

**Qualifications**
**Education**
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, and either a CHRP or CHRL designation.
- Valid certifications in the following: First Aid/CPR, ASIST, PMAB/CPI/UMAB, WHMIS (preferred)
- Level 1 & 2 Health and Safety Certification (preferred)
**Experience, Assets and Knowledge**
- 3-5 years in progressively more responsible human resource roles, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Knowledge and competencies in employment legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Labor Relations Act, and any other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with labor relations, collective bargaining and health and safety program administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.
- Culturally competent and able to provide supports through an intersectional feminist framework.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to work independently.
**Other**
- Proof of valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a fully insured roadworthy vehicle with an insurance minimum of two million in collision/personal liability, or ability to meet all required transportation expectations.
- Original and valid copy of police vulnerable sector clearance and meet the requirements of vulnerable sector standards for continued employment at IHOH.
- Able to meet mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy or meet accommodation allowances as outlined in IHOH policies.
- Bilingual or a second language an asset.
