Community Services Coordinator

Columbia International College (CIC) is the largest private boarding school in Canada. CIC has an enrollment of 1800 students from over 73 countries. As a boarding school, students live, sleep, eat, study, play and learn while staying in one of our 5 residences. We are currently looking for an Assistant Coordinator
- Community Service & Leadership to join us in the delivery of our Total Care Education System.
This position provides a high level of administrative and planning support to the initiatives of student development. You will be responsible for front-line communication with both students and staff.
**Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)**:
- Develop relationships with local, provincial, federal and international charitable organizations with the goal of creating community service opportunities for CIC students.
- Create an educational component to each Community Service Activity/ Trip
- Plan, oversee, manage, and promote all internal and external Community Service opportunities; including, Community Service Clubs, Major School Events, Monthly Awareness Campaigns, Community Service Trips, and various activities.
- Facilitate the Community Service Prefects Leadership Team.
- Completing and maintaining all processes, procedures, and documentation for fulfillment of CIC Students’ Community Service Hours as per Ministry of Education requirements.
- Documenting all completed Community Service in CIC’s internal database.
- Liaise with various other departments regarding students’ outstanding Community Service Hours.
- Providing Frontline Customer Service for Student Leadership Development.
- Assisting the Student Leadership Development team in the delivery of various school wide events, Summer Camps and weekend trips.
Specific Job Skills:
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
- Experience in an administrative role.
- Must be organized and have exceptional time management skills.
- Experience with logistics and organizing of transportation.
- People management skills.
- Must be a self-starter, decisive, assertive, and great team player.
- Ability to maintain a calm manner and patience when providing exceptional customer service to staff and students.
- Strong problem solving skills and mediation skills.
- Ability to be an effective member of interdepartmental team in a dynamic office.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience with Microsoft suite of programs, including Excel (Intermediate experience required including database development, mail merges, etc.)
- Experience with basic design software (Canva, Prezi, or Publisher)
**Hours of Work**
- Availability to work flexible hours including days, evenings and weekends.
