**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The City of Lacombe is currently recruiting for an Equipment Operator 2 to join our talented and committed Streets and Roads team. Reporting to and under the general direction of the Roads Supervisor, the Equipment Operator 2 position is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe manner, performing labour duties in support of the Streets and Roads Department, and periodically assisting colleagues in other City departments as directed. Typical duties and requirements include but are not limited to:

- **Professional and safe operation of light and heavy fleet equipment related to**:

- seasonal road and lane maintenance operations
- stormwater drainage channel maintenance operations
- scheduled/emergency repairs of municipal water/sewer infrastructure in coordination with the Utilities Department
- Spring and Fall community cleanup campaigns
- **Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on fleet equipment**:

- **Perform labour duties related to crack sealing, asphalt patching/pothole repairs, concrete patching, sign maintenance, traffic control, landscaping, and community cleanup**:

- **Occasional overtime and weekend work as required**:

- **Willing to perform on-call duties as required**:

- **Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when dealing with the public**:

- **Other related duties as assigned**

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision or able to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to represent the City and the department in a professional, competent manner

**Minimum Qualification Required**
- Four years’ experience in related heavy equipment operation
- Class 3 driver’s license with Q endorsement and an acceptable driving record

**Salary Range**:$2,330.40 - 2,912.80 **BI- WEEKLY** (80 hours/bi-weekly) dependent on experience. The City offers a comprehensive benefit, a pension program, and 3 weeks’ vacation.
