**Team Leader, Contract Financials**
The Financial Coordinator carries out a variety of financial activities (e.g. audits, validation of accounts payable, budgets, etc.) for moderately to highly complex transactions. Supporting the Team Lead, Contract Financials and Manager, Accounting, the incumbent provides advice and guidance to financial administrators, records project and contract budgets and expenditures, processes payments, prepares financial reports, and assists with year-end activities.
**KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES**

**Primary**
- Audit first and high risk progress claims in accordance with Client-Partner and Treasury Board policies and procedures
- Validate distribution of the daily payment batches to help ensure successful transmission
- Provide advice and guidance to Finance department colleagues on the processing of daily financial transactions
- Respond to inquiries about financial processes (e.g. accounts payable, budgets, contract value)
- Monitor and troubleshoot service issues within assigned areas of responsibility
- Provide technical support to other employees related to contract financial administration
- Maintain project budgets and transfer of funds, ensuring appropriate allocation of project expenditures based on Client-Partner instructions
- Participate in corporate initiatives, as required
- Assist with year-end activities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
- Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectations
**Other**
- Participate in policy development and process improvement
- Act as backup for Team Leader, Contract Financials.
- Provide technical support to other Finance department teams
- Other duties as assigned
**SKILLS**

**Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and Experience**
- Minimum: college diploma in accounting or related field with five years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
- Preferred: university degree in accounting and/or Chartered Professional Accountant designation
**Abilities**
- Use applicable computer software and operating systems (MS Excel, PDF, Oracle & SAP)
- Perform repetitive data entry with a high level of precision
- Adhere to strict deadlines
- Demonstrate attention to detail
**DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP**
- Provide functional advice and guidance to employees
- Occasionally coordinate the work of financial administrators
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
