Brampton, Canada REST Centres Full time

**Role: Operations Coordinator**

**About REST Centres**

Restoration and Empowerment for Social Transition or (R.E.S.T.) Center is a not for profit organization primarily engaged in interventions aimed at promoting transition to housing programs that provide diverse, multi-faceted supports for youth leaving the care system in its preventive efforts to end homelessness. Support programs include affordable housing, mentorship, counseling, education, life skills and employment training opportunities.

Our mission calls for societal understanding that youth homelessness has many root causes and complexities. Lack of affordable housing for example contributes to hidden homelessness, for youth who turn to couch surfing and don’t show up in the numbers. With increased understanding, we can mobilize community resources to help them transcend instability and achieve independence.

**The Opportunity**

This is a full time, Contract position that reports to REST Centres Executive Director and Operations Director.

As the Operations Coordinator you will work closely with the Executive Director as an integral part of REST Centres - with responsibilities that span across organizational operations including assisting with communications, managing schedule and prioritizing tasks; developing and establishing office protocols and systems; supporting special programs which may include research and event support

**Responsibilities**

In addition to the above considerations, the responsibilities of the Operations coordinator include, but are not limited to:

- Working with ED, help prepare materials for Board Meetings and act as staff liaison to relevant board committee
- Assist with the management of internal and external stakeholder relations.
- Helps in recruiting volunteers and developing policies, objectives and measures of performance for volunteers.
- Collaborate on various special projects and initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.
- Other duties as assigned - as a small team operating multiple projects simultaneously, ad hoc projects and additional growth opportunities are available. REST employees are expected to be flexible and to take on additional duties as assigned, according to the organization’s needs and the staff member’s skills and abilities. Because we are a non-profit that serves the community, some events or projects may require an occasional night or weekend.
