**Overview**:
The Operations Manager is responsible for improving operational efficiency, overseeing day-to-day activities, and managing various administrative, human resources, and information technology functions. The Operations Manager works closely with the Managing Partner, Executive Committee, and other stakeholders to position the firm for future growth and success.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operations/Management**:

- Enhance operational efficiency by eliminating unnecessary reporting, implementing new processes, standardizing procedures, and overseeing training and development initiatives.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities and ongoing projects of the legal team members.
- Collaborate with the Office Administrator to maintain and optimize the firm’s physical facilities and equipment, liaising with landlords, contractors, and vendors as necessary.
- Coordinate department and firm-wide events with the Office Administrator.
- Work with the Marketing Committee and third-party suppliers to promote the firm within the community through events, sponsorships, and social media/print media marketing.
- Attend meetings of the Partners, Executive Committee, and other assigned committees.
- Ensure the implementation of decisions made by the Partners and Executive Committee.
- Develop strategies with the Managing Partner and Executive Committee to position the firm for future success.
- Ensure adherence to key performance objectives to meet firm and client expectations.
- Engage in risk management, quality control, and other general management functions.

**Human Resources**:

- Supervise and support the HR Manager.
- Monitor and track personnel and payroll data to provide relevant management information.
- Perform HR functions in the absence of the HR Manager.
- Assist the HR Manager with decisions that have financial/organizational implications.

**Information Technology**:

- Supervise and support the Systems Administrator and other IT employees.
- Provide input on the evaluation and enhancement of existing and future IT systems and equipment.
- Ensure the robustness and security of the firm’s IT systems and equipment, in collaboration with the Systems Administrator.

**Administrative Team**:

- Supervise and support the administrative team, including the Receptionist and Office Administrator.

**Other**:

- Adapt and expand the role by taking on new responsibilities as needed and delegating tasks appropriately.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
- Professional certifications in management or operations (e.g., Certified Manager (CM), Project Management Professional (PMP)) are an asset.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a legal, professional services, or corporate environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing administrative and operational functions.
- Experience in human resources management and information technology oversight.
- Strong project management skills with experience in process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality control practices.
